Lalit Narayan Mithila University (LNMU), Darbhanga has officially released the 1st Semester Examination Programme for B.A., B.Sc., and B.Com. (CBCS) students of Session 2025-29. Students appearing in the 2026 examinations can now check the complete schedule including Major, Minor, MDC, SEC, VAC, and AEC subject exam dates. All candidates are advised to carefully review their subject group and examination timing to avoid any confusion before the exam.
2. Academic Classification: Major Subject Groupings
A cornerstone of the C.B.C.S. framework is the clear demarcation of core subjects. To facilitate a smooth examination timetable without overlap, LNMU has classified the Major Subjects into six distinct alphabetical groups, ranging from Group-A to Group-F. It is paramount for every student to accurately identify their specific group, as this dictates their exact examination date and sitting.
- Group-A:
This cluster includes History, L.S. W., Persian, and Anthropology. - Group-B:
Comprising analytical and linguistic subjects, this group features Mathematics, Political Science, Sanskrit, and Maithili. - Group-C:
This segment is dedicated to Zoology, Philosophy, Economics, and Home Science. - Group-D:
A diverse mix including Botany, Hindi, Sociology, Urdu, R.Economics, and A.Ι.Η. & C. - Group-E:
Focused on sciences and arts, this group covers Psychology, Physics, Music & Dramatics, and Chemistry. - Group-F:
Primarily business and humanities-oriented, featuring Account, H.R.M., Marketing, Geography, and English.

3. The Comprehensive Daily Examination Schedule
The university has structured the examination days into two standard operational shifts to accommodate the massive student body. The First Sitting operates in the morning hours, commencing at 10:00 A.M. and concluding at 01:00 P.M. The Second Sitting takes over in the afternoon, starting at 02:00 P.M. and running until 05:00 P.M. Note that a slight timing deviation occurs during the final AEC exams.
